Hardware
We are building an entirely new type of computing hardware that is designed from the ground up to be incredibly energy efficient at running generative AI models.

M.2 form factor
early access 2027
Z1 Stick
A thermo compute stick: over half a million pbits in an M.2 form factor, built for low-power edge applications such as augmented reality and robotics.

Standard form factor PCIe
early access 2027
Z1 Card
A standard form factor PCIe card for servers and workstations. Each card packs over 4 million pbits and slots in right alongside other accelerators, so one server can run AI workloads across thermodynamic and classical compute.

Silicon Prototype
Q1 2025
X0
X0 proved we could manufacture incredibly energy efficient probabilistic circuits that generate samples from simple probability distributions.

XTR-0
XTR-0 enables the development of ultra-efficient AI algorithms by providing low-latency communication between Extropic chips and a traditional processor.
Our Probabilistic Circuits
The probabilistic circuits on X-0 output random signals that sample from programmable probability distributions. These circuits are much more energy efficient than their counterparts on deterministic digital computers.

Samples from a Bernoulli distribution, selecting 0 or 1 with specified probabilities, like flipping a weighted coin.
