Hardware

We are building an entirely new type of computing hardware that is designed from the ground up to be incredibly energy efficient at running generative AI models.

XTR-0

XTR-0 enables the development of ultra-efficient AI algorithms by providing low-latency communication between Extropic chips and a traditional processor.

Z1

Z1 is our first production-scale chip, featuring hundreds of thousands of probabilistic circuits per chip, and millions per card. Z1 is mass-manufacturable using standard CMOS processes.

Our Probabilistic Circuits

The probabilistic circuits on X-0 output random signals that sample from programmable probability distributions. These circuits are much more energy efficient than their counterparts on deterministic digital computers.

Samples from a Bernoulli distribution, selecting 0 or 1 with specified probabilities, like flipping a weighted coin.
